Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1887 in Quebec, Canada.[1][2] She is the daughter of Samuel Holland and Sarah Doherty.[3][1] She married Dosylva Houle, in Quebec in 1910.[4][5][2]

Research Notes

Sarah (22 Jan 1865, 36) and William (43) were enumerated in the 1901 Canada Census living in Morin, Argenteuil, Quebec. The children were Elizabeth Holland (3 Aug 1887, 15) and those born to William: Sarah (10), Rachel (9), Emma (8), Bertha (5), Ruth (4), Lawson (2) and Martha (0). Everyone was born in Quebec.[1]

Elizabeth is shown on a historical family chart dated 1942. She married DeSylva Houle.[3]

Lizzie Holland of Morin Flat, Quebec married Desylva Houle, son of Napoleon Houle, in Sep 1910 in Quebec.[4]

Dosilva (21, Aug 1891) and Elisabeth (23, 1888) Houle were enumerated in the 1911 Canada Census living in St. Sauveur des Monts, Terrebonne, Quebec. He was of French origin, she was Irish. Both were born in Quebec. Dosilva was a chef.[2]

Elizabeth Matilda Holland and Dosilva Houle are named parents in the Drouin Collection birth record of son, Romeo Holland Houle. Romeo was born 21 Apr 1925 in Montreal, Quebec.[5] This spelling for Dosilva matches his grave marker.

Her children may have been: Florence May Cecilia, Ernest Gilbert Houle, Rene Dosilva, Myrtle Ruby, Violette Amanda, Romeo Holland, and Murielle Ethel. She may have died 25 Dec 1976. Per Vetter/Lamont family tree at Ancestry. To be further researched and verified.
