Jane was born in 1829.[1] She was the daughter of George Holland and Mary White. She married John Lines in 1849.[2] She passed away in 1906 age 76
[3] and is buried at St. John's Churchyard, Wakefield.[4]

"One more of the rapidly-diminishing band of early pilgrims has just completed her warfare and entered into the promised rest. Mrs Jane Lines, of Waiiti, relict of tho late Mr John Lines, at the age of 77 years. Mr John Lines was a tlaupter of the late Mr George Holland, of Stoke, who was the first hop-grower in Nelson. The deceased lady came out with her father in the ship Bolton in 1842, having resided in this district close on 60 years, and sharing the hardships and privations of the early settlement days. Above all she has left the precious memory of a consistent Christian life. The deceased leaves two son's and six daughters' to whom hearty sympathy is extended."
