Robert Holland, Veteran Of The U.S. Marine Corps Friday, November 2, 2001 Robert Louis Holland, 66, of Hixson died on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at his home. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was retired from Chattanooga Tent Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Mattie Grace Lawhorne Holland. He is survived by wife, Mary Lou Nolan Holland; son, Michael A. and wife, Lorrie Holland of Soddy-Daisy; daughter, Libby and husband, Chris Phillips of Chattanooga; and son, Mark E. and wife, Nancy Holland of Hixson; five grandchildren; brother, Jack Holland of Fort Oglethorpe; sisters, Jody Ray of Chattanooga, Betty Carroll of Huntsville, Ala., and Ruby Garner of Cheyenne, Wyo. The mass of Christian burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Jude Catholic Church with father Bob Hofstetter officiating. The interment will follow the service in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4355 Highway 58, Chattanooga, TN 37416. Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Highway 153.
