George was born in 1872. George was a carpenter by trade and also a farmer. He passed away at the age of 79 in 1952 and is buried at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Snead, Blount County, Alabama, next to his wife of 52 years Minnie Eugene (Brasseale). Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Cemetery is a cemetery for the Holland family. George and Minnie had 10 Children, one died at birth and 9 lived to adulthood. Of the 9 children they had 28 grandchildren. George and his family lived in Blount County Alabama until 1922, shortly after his youngest son Jay was born and they moved to Birmingham Alabama where he got a job as a guard at Avondale Mills. They first lived on 39th street then later moved to 52 Broad Avenue.
