He served in Company K "Nantahala Rangers," 9th Regiment Volunteers,[1] 1st Regiment North Carolina Cavalry during the American Civil War under Capt. Thaddeus P. Siler and Capt. William M. Addington.[12]
Anthony's wife Elizabeth passed away in 1887.[13] Two years later, on 15 December 1889 in Macon County, he married Martha Elmore.[14]
Anthony passed away on 9 April 1907 and was buried at Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellijay, Macon County.[1]
