Zoiya (Holland) Tate has German Roots.

My name is Zoiya Holland-Tate. I am of Russian descent on my mother's side and recently through DNA we learned my mother is also German and Irish. On my fathers's side I am German/Prussian, Ashkenazi Jewish, Spanish, Irish and a little English. I have been researching my family tree almost daily for over 4 years. I have learned a lot in that short time and consider myself to be on the intermediate level and working towards expert, though the DNA is a new frontier for me.

My Bloodlines:

  • My Paternal Grandfather was a Holland, his bloodlines also include: Bausbach (paternal) & Haase, Hermann (maternal). This line also has many Y-DNA to Anglin and Allen autsomal matches to Cohen, Smith, Miller, Levin.
  • My paternal Grandmother was a Myers, her major blood lines include: Sprague, Green(e), Kidder, Hutchins, Cutler, Lynde, Jessop, Ballard, Wheeler, Bowman (maternal) & Eaton, Cullers/Kuller, Burner, Packer, Plumber, (paternal)

-My paternal Grandmother's side are mostly Colonial and Mayflower families.

  • My maternal Grandfather was a Metchnikoff (Mechikoff/Metchikoff), his bloodlines include: Klubniken, Ztadorkin, Novikoff
  • My maternal Grandmother was a Pavloff (Pavlov,Pabloff), her lines include: Klubniken, Bukroff(Bucaroff/Buckroff), Novikoff(maternal).
Her Paternal lines remain a mystery as of now due to her father having an assumed identity. Recent DNA clues point to the surnames Renner and Hollimen

-This side contains Russian Molokan immigrants who came to the United States between 1904-1908. My Grandmother's side settled in the Guadalupe Valley, Baja Calif, Mex

I don't find them creepy LOL they contain a lot of information
I enjoy connecting families. I am currently working on Sprague connections and seeking to connect my Holland line
One of my family lines
I have German immigrant roots on my paternal side in a few places. Looking to find more about my Bausbach, Haase, Kuller/Cullers, Brumbach and Hermann roots
My family seemed to enterchange the two though the "Greene" spelling is the original way. I have 2 separate Green lines one that imigrated in through Va and SC. Removing to OH. The other is of historical significance described in the Greene tag.
Greene/Kidder/Sprague/Lynde. I am a direct descendant from Thomas Greene of Malden, Ma. My branch relocated to Killingly CT..
My surname is Holland and I have hit a wall trying to find any of my family beyond my 2xGG William James Holland of Alexandria. He seems to appear out of nowhere and disaper just as quickly
Newly discovered family line
I descend from the immigrant James Kidder. My branch removed from MA to VT. This line commonly mixes with Sprague and Green(e)
Trying to figure out where my line goes after my 3rd Great Granfather.
Looking into Holland, Sprague, Kidder, Green(e) and may add more later
Photo of the week contest
A large part of my Heritage are Quakers up into the 1900's. Some of my Quaker lines include Sprague, Jessop, Greene, Pease, Bowman, Beals, Small
My mom's side is Russian Molokan. Most of my ancestors came here from 1904-1908 and settled in Mexico.
My husbands true surname. Seeking info on this line. His father was born and raised in Indiana
Lineage of Ralph Sprague and descendants from Mass to Conn to Vt to IL and IA
I have many ancestors that fought on both sides. I am particularly interested in my Great-great GrandfatherWilliam James Holland of Alexandria, VA who enlisted in Va Reg't 17th Infantry Co. H and his record says transferred to MD line in 1862. I am not sure what happened to him after that and during the war until 1880. I think he may have either been a POW or deserter I am hoping to learn the truth.

Hi Zoiya,

We’ve made some exciting changes to the Global Cemeteries Project. The sub-projects have been merged into the Global Project to help with Leadership and to facilitate collaboration.

Some roles within the project have changed. From now on, there are Project Coordinators for each continent, and one for Welcome and Integration, plus Team Leaders for each individual Country etc.

Please let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project, if you’d like to continue in an existing role, and which team(s) you’d like to be on. Please also give me your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group.

Many thanks,

Leader, Global Cemeteries

Hi Zoiya

Pauline looks to actually be Hannah ,if you follow her documentation to family search. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/KN1Y-1VS/details?cid=partner-3Z3L-Z4GK-J7ZS-YT3Z-Q4KY-YN66-ZX5K-176R. So I am going to propose we merge them and use her more accepted name Jenny
