ROGER MORTIMER, Knt., 4th Earl of March, 7th Earl of Ulster, Lord Mortimer, son and heir, born at Usk, Monmouthshire 11 April 1374. He married about 7 October 1388 ELEANOR HOLAND, daughter of Thomas de Holand, K.G., 2nd Earl of Kent, by Alice, daughter of Richard de Arundel, Knt., Earl of Arundel and Surrey [see KENT 10 for her ancestry]. She was born 13 October 1370. They had two sons, Edmund, K.B. [Earl of March and Ulster] and Roger, and two daughters, Anne and Eleanor. SIR ROGER MORTIMER, Earl of March and Ulster, was killed at Kells by O'Brien's men 20 July 1398, while engaged in a rash attack on some of the Leinster clans. He left a will. His widow, Eleanor, married (2nd) in June 1399 EDWARD CHERLETON (or CHARLETON) 5th Lord Cherleton, feudal lord of Powys (died 14 March 1420/1) [see CHERLETON 13 for issue of this marriage]. She died 6 (or 18 October 1405.
