Biography

Aug. 9, 1852 - Shenandoah Co., VA Deed Book 1, Page 486 Will of Mary Hollar (unmarried daughter of Henry Holler In the name of God Amen I Mary Hollar of Shenandoah Cty and State of Virginia, do make this to be my last will and testament, as follows; (that is to say) I desire my body may be buried at direction of my Executor, herein after named and I direct that all my Just debts be paid as soon after my decease as may be convenient, first I give and Bequeath unto my Brother Joseph Hollar in testimony of my sincere regard and affection for him, all my Bonds and money that may be coming to me from any and all persons, by virtue of their obligations to me, also all my moveable and perishable property except what may be hereinafter named & bequeathed to my other friends & relations. Secondly, I give, devise, and bequeath to my Brother Joseph Hollar during his natural life, all my real Estate, Consisting of one undivided fourth part of my dec'd Brother William's farm being the same portion inherited by me at his death. I also give and device & bequeath to my Brother Joseph Hollar during his natural life all my real Estate in the farm whereon Jacob Christian now lives, near Union Forge near the water of Stoney Creek & consisting of one third of said farm held in my own right as one of the legal heirs and representatives of Henry Hollar dec'd., also one fifth part of one third of Catharine Painter's portion of the said farm who was one of the heirs & legal representatives of Henry Hollar dec'd., provided however, It is my will that at & after the death of my Brother Joseph Hollar, the Interest & real Estate, willed & bequeath descend to the following named persons to wit: Rebecca Coffman, daughter of Henry Hollar, George Hollar and John Hollar, children of Henry Hollar, to have & to hold the same, to their heirs and assigns forever, share & share alike provide that the said Rebecca Coffman wife of Reuben Coffman, George Hollar and John Hollar pay the sum of $33.33 1/3 cents each to my niece Catherine Hollar daughter of Henry Hollar. I also will & bequeath unto my nephew John Hollar one Bed Complete, also my Spinning Wheel and Check Reel to my niece Rebecca Coffman and I do hereby nominate and appoint Joseph Miller (of Peter) to be my Executor, o this my let Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills by me at anytime or times heretofore ams, and do hereby declare these presents to be, and Contain my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said tester Mary Holler, have to this my said last will written upon one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal this 26th day of Jan. A. D. Eighteen hundred and fifty two.
