Born in Montgomery County, New York on 1 October 1809 to Jasper and Rachel (Van Wormer) Hallenbeck, Francis was the youngest of five children. In or around 1836 (from the obit we could infer 1834) Francis married his sister-in-law Margaret Emery, a daughter of Rowland Emery of Ohio, Herkimer, New York.
So far, we have not found the exact marriage date or a copy of a marriage record for either Francis or Cornelius.
Fairfield 1848 or 1849
Using a little aritimetic, we can infer from the 1855 New York State Census that Francis and family (including father Jasper) moved to Fairfield, Herkimer, New York in or about 1849. This has to be approximate because the children are in the Fairfield school as early as 1848.

Among other children attending during 1848 and their ages:
Died at his home near Kirksville, Adair county, Mo., Oct. 27, 1892, Francis Hollenbeck, aged 80 years, 26 days. He was born Oct. 1, 1809, in New York, married when about twenty five to Margaret Emery who walked by his side sharing his joys and sorrows until June 12, 1883, when she passed on to the spirit land. He was converted in 1857 and united with the M.E. church and as long as health permitted it was his delight to meet and worship with the people of God. He was the father of five children the eldest of whom died in 1862. One son is living in Texas and the two daughters in New York, all married. While the son and his wife and the two grand children who ministered to every want will sadly miss him in their home, the children so far away will be among the chief mourners when they receive the sad intelligence that their father is gone. Could he have chosen his own time to depart this life he could not have chosen more wisely. As we laid him to rest by the side of his companion the lovely autumn day, and the falling of the leaves, led our thoughts forward to the glorious change of the spring time, and that so in the resurrection morn would they awake in newness of life.
Buried at Cater Cemetery, Kirksville, Adair Co., MO[10]

GEDmatch kits A169970 (Margaret J Hollenbeck) and A636550 (*laughingface) confirm a 17.4 cM match on chromosome 2 and an 8.5 cM match on chromosome 17 for a total autosomal DNA match of 25.9 cM between them. We will need more matches to triangulate--especially given the double-cousin relationship between them.
