Biography

George was born on 11 Apr 1878 to Franklin Pierce Holley and Myrtle Loop (not verified).

George was an automotive engineer and designer who with his brother Earl started the Holley Motor Company in Detroit. It was the design of the Holley Carburetor that changed gasoline engine development. They became the major suppliers to Ford, Pierce-Arrow, Winton, Oldsmobile, and Buick. They became the world's largest independent manufacturer of carburetors. George and his brother were inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 1995. (Paraphrased from FindAGrave obituary)
