Mary Holliday was born in Yorkshire, England.

Mary was born in 1848[1] in Cavill, Yorkshire, England, and was baptised nearby in Eastrington.[2] She was the daughter of John Holliday and Margaret Smith and lived in Cavill with her parents in 1851.[3]

Mary was working as a servant for the Goundrill family during 1861.[4]
