Sarah Hollingsworth was born on 7 October 1706 in Rockland Manor, New Castle, Delaware and was christened in Newark MM, New Castle, Delaware. Her parents were Thomas and Grace (Cooke) Hollingsworth. She married John Dixon on 29 October 1724, as recorded in the Newark Monthly Meeting:
John DICKSON of Mill Creek Hundred, NCC [New Castle County], and Sarah HOLLINGSTH. [Hollingsworth] of Christiana Hundred, afsd. co. 29-8-1724 at Center meeting house.
She was listed as Sarah Dixson in an abstract of her father's will:
Sarah died on 8 September 1738 in Upper Providence, Chester, Pennsylvania.
The following profiles were attached as children of John and Sarah (Hollingsworth) Dixon as of 7 September 2019. Please see their profiles, and John's for sources found to support the attachment (in most cases, better sources are needed, which is why this list is under Research Notes).
Hollingsworth Heritage Volume XI No. 1 gives alternate date of birth: 7 Aug 1706: date of death Aft 30 Oct 1725: marriage: 29 Aug 1724 at Old Swedes Church, Willmington, Delaware. Note - birth/marriage were in 8th month, which would be October, not August. ~ ls
Bobby R. Huggins book reports Sarah married a George Martin on 17 Jul 1747, which, cannot be because she died on 8 Sep 1738....and this writer shows her second marriage was to Aaron Harlan March. Note - wife of George Martin was probably the daughter of John & Sarah; perhaps she was wife of Mr. March also. ~ ls
www.hollygardens.com lists date of marriage to John Dickson as 29 Aug 1724. Note - again, August is a "misconversion" of 8m (which in 1724 would be October, not August). ~ ls

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Sarah:
Hollingsworth-1636 and Hollingsworth-1343 appear to represent the same person because: Hollingsworth-1636 shows Sarah's second marriage to Daniel Nichols. More details here, including more accurate information on Sarah's actual death date:
