Biography

Loyd Hollingsworth was born 22 August 1912 in Bulloch County, Georgia, the son of Charles W. Hollingsworth and Samantha Brannen Hollingsworth^[1].

He died 19 June 1988 in Bulloch County^[2] and was buried in Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia

Loyd Hollingsworth Sr., 75, died Sunday at the Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a retired farmer in the Westside Community and had worked for the City of Statesboro for 14 years. He was a member of Middleground Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Deal Hollingsworth, Statesboro; three daughters, Mrs. Wallace Newton and Mrs. Billy Akins, both of Statesboro, and Mrs. Larry Shaw, Jesup; three sons, Hollingsworth-4417 Ray Hollingsworth, Lloyd Hollingsworth Jr. and James D. Hollingsworth, all of Statesboro; a sister, Annie Bell Adams, Statesboro; a brother, Emit Hollingsworth, Statesboro; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mr. Hollingsworth will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. from the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Carl Campbell and Elder Tom Deal officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Hodges-Turner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
