WIlliam Hollis

William, son of John Hollis (died 27 August 1832), was born about 1768 or '69. He applied for his father's pension in November 1832, stating his age to be about 64.[1]
William Hollis married Elizabeth Reed in Rowan, North Carolina on 15 February 1790.[2]

the pension application was made in 1832 & William said he was about 64 years old & that his father died 27 August 1832 - that's the same date of death shown in the memorial for John Hollis that is linked to the memorial you have as a source for this William Hollis.
