Son of Rev.Dr. Alexander Newton Hollis and Maude Shutt Hollis. One of ten children. Undergraduate deg. And Masters Deg in TN. Served in US Army Air Corps during WWII. Honorable discharge in 1945. Married Lydia Louise Shaver 10,28,1945. Doctorate from Penn State Univ. taught in public schools, Principal and professor and chairman of education dept. at Pfeiffer Univ., Misenheimer, NC until retirement. Father of three children, Robert Alexander, born 12-17-1946, Fred Thomas,II and Jacqueline Louise.
