Helen, who sometimes appears as "Adda," married 20 Dec 1860 in Shelburne, Vermont to Horace S. Mead, son of Samuel Mead. [1]
Helen two children by Horace before he died in 1877:
Carrie A., b. 20 May 1863
Grant Eugene, b. 07 May 1869
Helen and her children removed to Kansas sometime after Horace's death, and Helen married second, by 1884 (presumably in Kansas) to James S. Collins of New York. James was named guardian for Helen's son Grant in the 1884 settlement of Horace's estate in Vermont, at which time the family resided in Topeka, where James had a real estate and loan office. [2]
Helen and James resided in Shawnee, Kansas in 1895 with Helen's children Carrie and Grant and James's children John and Grace, who were both born in Kansas: [3]
No record for Helen's death or burial has yet been found.

Hollister-4684 and Hollister-1289 are not ready to be merged because: These two may represent the same Helen Hollister who was b. in Shelburne, VT, m1. Horace Mead, and m2. James Collins; but without a source to link the Helen who resided in Shaftsbury (which is over 100 mi. south of Shelburne) with the one from Shelburne, I'm reluctant to merge them.
Hollister-4684 and Hollister-1289 appear to represent the same person because: Possibly the same. If not, know more about who her parents were?
