Biography

Frontier peace officer. Cash served as both mayor and Town Marshal of Caldwell, Kansas. He later held a commission as a Deputy U.S. Marshal while also serving as Deputy Sheriff of Sumner County, Kansas. In that capacity, he was shot and killed while attempting to arrest Bob Cross. Deputy Hollister is memorialized at Panel 40, E-6 on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC.
