Biography

Thomas Holloway was one of ten children of John Holloway, Sr, and he was the last surviving child. He left no wife or child to inherit his estate.

Thomas was a carpenter and a joiner. As the last of his generation, he had acquired a large amount of land. When he died in 1818, a suit was brought against the executor of his estate, which lasted until 1825. [1]

The estate of Thomas was divided into eight equal shares, of $2,952.60 for each of his siblings, those nieces and nephews sharing their deceased parents share:

1/8 share to heirs of brother James Holloway, deceased

1/8 share to heirs of Sarah "Sally" Holloway, deceased wife of Joseph Price

1/8 share to heirs of Bethsiah Martha "Betti" Holloway, deceased wife of John Pearson

1/8 share to heirs of Elizabeth Holloway, deceased wife of Daniel Wilson

1/8 share to heirs of Isabella Holloway, deceased wife of Francis Nunn

1/8 share to heirs of John Holloway, deceased

1/8 share to heirs of William Holloway, deceased

1/8 share to Reddin McCoy as Administrator of the Estate of Mary "Polly" Holloway, deceased wife of Elijah McCoy

Thomas' sister Nancy Ann never married, and therefore left no heirs to share in the distribution.
