The same author, in a separate book of family stories, had this note: "In 1968, Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Holloway were contacted for the first time, and Mrs. Merritt had found papers in an old trunk in the attic of a log cabin in northeastern Oregon belonging to John Tipton Holloway, which gave the names, birth dates, marriages of all 13 children of Pleasant Holloway. Without these papers, it is doubtful if a complete list of the children would ever have been found." These records on this page appear to have come from this source.
