Peter Holman was born in Dixfield, Maine in 1803, the son of Peter Holman and Mercy Knight. He married Martha "Patty" Parks Newton at Dixfield on 20 Nov 1827, They were the parents of nine known children.
Peter moved from Dixfield, Maine to Massachusetts in 1842 but moved back to Dixfield in 1864, according to the book "The Holmans in America; concerning the descendants of Solamon Holman, an early settler of West Newbury, Massachusetts".
Peter died at Dixfield in 1876 and is buried in the Holman Cemetery, Dixfield Commons, Dixfield just down the road from the original home built by his father.
