Linda A. Jakobson, age 76 of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at her home in Blooming Prairie. Linda Ann Holmes was born June 23, 1944 in Linwood, Kansas, to Charles and Leah (Bailey) Holmes. She was a graduate from Crookston High School. Linda then went on to attend college in Mankato, Minnesota, where she met Jerome Jakobson. The couple later married on February 6, 1965 and together were blessed with six children. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blooming Prairie. Linda was a very talented piano player, playing for over 50 years at several different churches, taught piano lessons for 20 years, and especially loved playing piano with her grandkids. She enjoyed doing yard work, collecting lighthouses, tending to her flowers, wood crafts, and loved to sew items for her family, especially bags. Linda kept her family together, loved including them in her projects, and would always offer ice cream to her grandkids. She possessed a generous and giving heart and was always there to help. Linda was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Jerome Jakobson; children, Connie (Mike) Frazier, Jerry (Cassandra) Jakobson, Wendy (Darrick) Schewe, Scott Jakobson, Robyn (Kyle) Thompson, and Heidi (Shawn) Brown; 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy Holmes and Lawrence Holmes; and sister-in-law, Carol Holmes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Leah Holmes; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Blooming Prairie. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Blooming Prairie Cemetery. Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
