Biography

Hardiman was born about 1759. He passed away about 1850.

He was married to a Farobee on the 1850 census.

He seems to have some ties to the Frederick Holmes and the McDaniel families. He is not as well off. He does not have slaves listed on the census records. He does claim $1,000 in real estate on the 1850 census.

1810 Residence - Edgefield District, SC. Age 26 - 44. 1 male < 10, 1 female < 10, 1 female 26 - 44. [1]

He bought 100 acres for $100 from William Holsten on 25 Feb 1813 on a branch of Beaverdam of Turkey Creek of Stevens Creek adj. lands of John Elam, James White. Wit: Wyatt Holmes, Levi McDaniel. Proved 10 Jan 1818. [2]

13 Oct 1817. He sold the same 100 acres to Levi McDaniel for $400. Proved 22 Jan 1818 by Edward McDaniel. [3]

1820. A suit was brought by James Dawson & Lewis Clark against Hardiman Homes. The suit involved 100 acres near Martin-town on Gunnels Creek of Stephens Creek. It was sold by the sheriff to Benjamin Tillman for $101. Recorded 24 Jul 1820. Edgefield Deed book 37, page 198.
