Isabelle was born circa 1850 in Halcolmb, New Brunswick. She was a daughter of James Holmes and and Catherine (Wedden) Holmes.[1]
She married Duncan MacTavish on July 27, 1869 when she was 19 and Duncan was approximately 27. The wedding was performed by Rev. Edward Hickson. Duncan was a son of John and Miriam MacTavish of Northumberland County.[2][1] They were farmers and lived at Cassilis.
Duncan passed away in 1909 of Heart Disease at the age of 67.
Isabelle passed away on March 20, 1939 in South Esk, New Brunswick at the age of 89. She was interred in nearby Red Bank.[1]
