Dibdall was born in 1717.
He married Elizabeth Cocke in about 1745 and they soon after relocated to Amelia Co., Virginia. On December 2, 1748, he witnessed the will of William Stone of that same county[1] and was still living there as late as 1762 when he appears on a tax list.
During the Revolutionary War he was on the staff of General Nathaniel Greene.[2]
Sometime in the 1770s Dibdall relocated to Natchez District of the Louisiana territory and eventually settled in an area that later became Jefferson Co., Mississippi. On October 4, 1779, he signed a petition, "from the citizens of Natchez to Lieut. Col. Dickson, 16th Reg. commanding his Britannick Majesty's Forces in the River Mississippi…"[3]
He passed away in 1804.[4]
