John Holt was born in 1883. He was the son of Richard Holt and Emma Johns. [1]
John Holt Enlisted in the A.I.F. In 1916. He served in France and was gassed in the trenches. He was hospitalized in Britain for seven months and returned to Australia in 1919. He died two years later. He died in Caulfield Victoria 1921 aged 37.[2] [3]
HOLT.— In loving- memory of my dear husband, John Holt. who died at Caulfield Military Hospital 20th October. 1921. Ever remembered. — inserted by his loving wife Jessie Holt.[4]
John Johns Holt’s will written when a Private in the A.I.F. leaving his assets to his wife Jessie. They lived and owned the house at 29 Hilton Street Clifton Hill, Victoria. Valued at £250 in 1922.[5] [6]
John Holt married Jessie Humphreys. I have not found any children but they may have been born after 1919 so records are not available at the time of writing this Thomson-4079
