Hi Alan,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

I ran out of space in my last comment. Considering your comment about my Ramsdell Revolutionary War ancestor, that would mean we must share my 3rd great grandparents on my maternal grandmother's side. Katie Davey was the daughter of Albert Ezra Davey and Dorothy Fuller. My Ramsdell ancestors are on Albert Davey's mother's side. Her name was Adaline Gardner, daughter of

Gersham Gardner and Eliza Ramsdell, my 3rd great grandparents. Perhaps they are your 4th great grandparents.

Hello Alan,

Yes, we do match with a distance of 5.0 generations, which means we either share the same 3rd great grandparents and are 4th cousins, or, if you're a lot younger than me, perhaps 3rd cousins 1x removed. You also match with my half sister, Debra Tautin. We have the same mother, so one set my and Debbie's 3rd cousins on our mother's side, is your set of ancestors as well. My third great grandparents on my mother's side are: 1. Solomon & Hannah Stein Snyder, they moved from Muncy, PA to Potter County, PA 2. Johnson & Sarah Roberts Chase - they moved from Livingston County, New York to Potter County, PA 3. Orion & Colleen McGinnis Dunn - they emigrated from Ireland to Canada 4. Zachariah & Mary Henley Ellison - they lived in Hawersville, Tennessee. Mary moved to Potter County, PA
