Biography
Sarah Holtzclaw was born in May 1783 in Fauquier, Virginia, United States, daughter of Benjamin Holtzclaw (~1748 - 1826) and Catherine Malinda Russell (1757 - ~1833).
Her siblings were:
- Amos Holtzclaw Sr (1774 - 1842)
- Benjamin Holtzclaw Jr (1788 - 1879)
- Martin Luther Holtzclaw (~1790 - ~1887)
Sarah married Christopher A. Hopwood (born in Manassas, Prince William, Virginia in 1780; died on 19 Nov 1834), son of Christopher A. Hopwood and Martha Combs, on 27 Sep 1808 in Paynesville, Pike, Missouri. Their daughter was Clementine Delepretta (Hopwood) Britt (1814 - 1890).
Sarah died on 11 Dec 1835 aged ~52.
