Biography
Helen (Home) Erskine was born in Scotland.
Elyne or Helen, daughter of Sir Alexander Home and his wife Marion Lauder, married first by contract dated 02 February 1448 to Adam Hepburn. He was the eldest son of Patrick, Lord Hailes. Sir Alexander Home had an acquittance from Patrick, Lord Hailes, of all sums due by reason of the marriage of his son Adam to Elyne, daugter of Sir Alexander, dated 03 February 1460/1. Elyne or Helen Home had numerous children by the Master of Hailes, who died in 1479. She married secondly, before 15 July 1480, as his second wife, Alexander Erskine, son and heir-apparent of |Thomas Lord Erskine, without issue. [1]
