DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

"H.J. Res 17, Transferring the Counties of Berkeley and Jefferson to the State of West Virginia, February 19, 1866."

So, John Hood was born in the Colony of Virginia.

Hood-1513 and Hood-636 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. No tree conflicts. We should keep the full death place in St. Clair, St. Clair County, Alabama. Thanks!
