Rice Hooe III was a Virginia colonist.

Rice Hooe, III,[1] was born about 1660 at "Merchant's Hope" plantation, Charles City County, Colony of Virginia; he was the only child of Rice Hooe, II, and his wife Susannah. He was married three times: first to Mary Dade, second to Ann Howson, and third to Frances Townsend. There were children from each union.

Rice Hooe, III, served as a Burgess of Stafford County, 1699,[2] and a Justice of Stafford County, 1700. He built "Barnesfield," (circa 1715) a plantation along the Potomac River with a landing called "Hooe's Ferry" (a popular haunt of blockade runners). The plantation was destroyed in 1861 by Federal gun ships.

Rice passed away April 19, 1726, at King George County, Colony of Virginia. He and other family members were originally buried at "Barnesfield" in the Hooe family cemetery, and later reinterred (or at least the grave markers relocated) to Saint Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Owens, King George County, Virginia.[3]
