Page 214: (D) Robert Hooke, brother of Wm. Hooke, spoken of by Col. Hooke in his manuscript, also names in File 302, Staunton, Va. Col. Hooke says that Robert owned what was afterwards known as the Joseph Beery farm adjoining the old Hooke plantation, "Slate hill," on the east. Probably died before 1806.

Col. Hooke names the four daughters of Robert as follows: 1st, Mary --Issue: Mary Ann Bleakley, wife of Alexander Bleakley. 2nd, Jane, died near 1824. 3rd, Ann (died before 1824). 4th, Catherine. File 302 names fifth, Christina married John Hatfield, Nov. 25th, 1790. Issue: Martha, William and Jane Hatfield. Removed to Indiana many years before 1824. 6th, James Addison, served in 58th Va. Vols. War 1812, under his cousin, Capt. Robert Hooke. Ref. Wayland's History. Married Jane Campbell, daughter of William Campbell (dec.), June 19, 1810. William Campbell surety, Rock. Co. Va. He adopted a nephew of his (probably Jermiah), and they located in Logan County, Ohio. One Jermiah left descendants in Ohio and Missouri.
Robert died before 19 Nov 1772 at Augusta County, Virginia. A Probate entry granting administration of his estate to his wife Jane is dated 19 Nov 1772.[2]
Robert is buried at Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Fort Defiance, Virginia.[3]
