Biography

It is said that Emery was born at Crane Island, Missouri by some sources. There is no Crane Island, Missouri; it is actually Crains Island in Randolph County, Illinios. The Mississippi River around Crains Island changed course, and now Crains Island is on the Missouri side of the River, but still in Randolph County, Illinois.

Emery was born 9 Nov 1903 at Crains Island, Illinois. Emery was living with his parents in Saline, Missouri during the 1910[1] census.

Emery married Iris Undine Watson 26 Nov 1927. They were living at St. Louis, Missouri during the 1930[2] with two children. During the 1940[3] census, Emery was living at Ecorse, Michigan with Daisy Domers and two of his children.

"Embren Hooks of Perryville, Mo., has been the guest of Ed Mansker." - From The Cairo Bulletin, Volume 49, Number 331, 20 November 1917

Emery died 7 Jan 1983 at Paducah, McCracken, Kentucky[4][5] Emery is Interred at Kirksey Cemetery, Kirksey, Kentucky[6].
