English scientist, surveyor and architect.[1]

Robert Hooke was born in 1635 in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight to the Reverend John Hooke and his wife, Cecily Gyles, the youngest of their 4 children.

He never married & on 3 March 1703, Hooke died in London, his estate passed to his cousin Elizabeth Stephens.
