Wife and Children
Samuel was married to an unknown Sarah. The births of his children are recorded in the minutes of the Gunpowder Monthly Meeting of Friends. His children were:

Death
Samuel wrote and signed his will several years before his death. There is no mention of his wife and most of his children only received several shillings. An abstract of the will follows:
to my son Thomas Hooker 5 shillings current money and no more.
to my daughter Sofia, wife of Arthur Chinworth 20 shillings and no more.
to my daughter Lovely Hooker 1 bed & furniture and 20 shillings.
to my daughter Sarah, wife of Richard Richards 20 shillings and no more.
to my son Richard Hooker 1 negro woman named Cate & her increase, also all my lands that I am possessed with, and the remainder of my personal estate.
I appoint my son, Richard Hooker, my sole executor of my will.
Signed and sealed 11th day of the 8th month 1767 and witnessed by James Murray, James Canidy, and Henry Cotterel. Probated on 11 MAR 1773.
