The Hoole family emigrated from New Zealand apparently after feeling an earth quake and arrived in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 10 November 1923 on board SS Moeraki. ^[3]

In the 1940s James was a clerk and lived with his parents in Rosamond Rd, Footscray North.

In the 1950s James was a carpenter and lived with his parents in Rosamond Rd, Footscray North.

In the 1970s James was a carpenter and lived in Rosamond Rd, Footscray with his widow mother, Elizabeth Hoole.

He passed away in 1997.
