Biography

Frederick Buckle Hooper was born in 1836 in Bristol, England, United Kingdom. His parents were Richard and Matilda. ^[1] He was baptised on 15 May 1836 in Bristol. Richard was a Maltster. ^[2]

By 1850 his family had moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan and he was living with his parents and 4 sibilngs. Richard was a Brewer. They had moved in about 1838 as daughter Harriet had been born in Michigan. ^[3]

Frederick married Ella F Sheppard (born 1845 in Bristol, Gloucestershire; daughter of Thomas H Sheppard (1828–1901) and Louisa Alcott Elliot (1820–1872)). The couple had no children.

In 1880 Fred B and Ella were living in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan where he was a general broker. ^[4]

Frederick died in 1903 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw, Michigan, United States, aged 67. He is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery. ^[1] the inscription on his large tombstone reads;

Son of Matilda and Richard Hooper

Married. No children. Occupation: Real estate

Lived 68 years. Sad ending.

He had taken his own life. ^[5]
