It is with great sadness that the family of the late JESSIE HODDER of Rock Harbour announces her passing at the Blue Crest Interfaith Home in Grand Bank on Friday, February 3rd, 2017, at the age of 88. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Calvin of Creston North, John (Shirley) of Mooring Cove, Albert (Ella) of Creston South; daughters, Evelyn Melendy (Nowell) of Paradise, Frances Farewell of Creston South, Barbara Follett (Roy) of St. John’s, Sharon Hodder (Partner, Danny) of Kilbride; brothers, Charles Hooper at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank & Albert Hooper of Toronto; sisters, Frances Hodder of Rock Harbour & Effie Hillier of St. John’s; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Josiah; sons, Samuel & Eugene Hodder; daughters, Pauline Mallay & Nora Stacey; granddaughter, Shelly Farewell; parents, John & Jane Hooper; brothers, William & David Hooper; sister, Elizabeth Withers.

The Funeral Service took place at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Rock Harbour on Monday, February 6th, at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery in Rock Harbour.

In Jessie’s memory donations may be made to St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Rock Harbour or flowers gratefully accepted.
