Biography

John was born about 1770 in England, although the location is uncertain, possibly London, perhaps Cornwall. John married Elizabeth Little in January 1791 in Devon county and their first child was born in November that year in Torpoint, Antony, Cornwall. There were five more children, two of them, Robert and Thomas, becoming physicians in London. Son John was a newspaper man and printer in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. His brothers Joseph and Denzell also moved to Canada. Daughter Elizabeth probably died at an early age. At the moment there is no further information on John Hooper. His family does not appear to be connected to the Hooper families in St. Austell parish, Cornwall.
