Biography

Edwin was born in 1887. He passed away in 1970.

In the 1900 census Edwin (age 13) was the son of H C Hooner in Porter Township, Van Buren, Michigan, United States.^[1]

Note that H. C. was reported to have been born in Ohio, his father born England, and his mother born Pennsylvania; his wife Ada E. was born in Michigan to parents both born in England; and she had given birth to 5 children, only 4 of whom were living and only 3 enumerated with this family. They had been married 18 years by 1900 (so married about 1882). The name was erroneously indexed as Hooner as the "tail" of the "p" had faded.

In the 1910 census Edwin (age 22) was the married head of household in Porter, Van Buren, Michigan, United States.^[2]

Edwin was born in Michigan, his father in Ohio, and his mother in Michigan. Lulu had given birth to two children, but only one was still living in 1910. They had been married for three years (about 1917). Edwin's widowed mother was enumerated on the same page. Again, the census reported that she was born in Michigan.

Edwin was in a military record in 1917-1918 in Van Buren, Michigan, United States.^[3] Note the draft registration dated June 5, 1917, states he had a wife and two children by that date.
