Biography

Dempsey was born in 1934, a son of Lee Hoover and Dora Mae Johnson. He passed away in 1997 and is buried in Pierces Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Trinity, North Carolina.^[1][2][3][4] Little is known about his early family life.

He married Josephine Anne Trotter on 3 Jul 1956 in Asheboro, North Carolina.^[5] They made their home in Asheboro, North Carolina^[6][7]; it is doubtful that they had any children together.

A brief obituary was published in the Greensboro News & Record on 25 Dec 1997:^[8]

DEMPSEY HOOVER ASHEBORO - Dempsey Hayes Hoover, 63, of 429 Back Creek Church Road, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at Randolph Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at the Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro.
