Biography

John Hopcraft was born on 4 August 1850 in Boarstall, Buckinghamshire, England, the son of Mary (Holtam) Hopcraft and William Hopcraft.^[1][2]

John, aged 8, emigrated to Australia with his parents and siblings on the "Telegraph" in 1859.^[3][4][5]

He married Annie Sarah Sawyer on 25 September 1873 in Mornington, Victoria.^[6] Their children were:
