Biography

Margaret Hope was the daughter of James Hope Esq., Writer of the Signet, and Jane Walker, of St Andrews Parish, Edinburgh. She was born on 10th July 1816 and baptised at Edinburgh on 4th November.^[1]

She married Lt.-Col. James Alexander Duncan Fergusson, son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan, on 15 November 1844 in Edinburgh.^[2]

She died on 9 December 1896.
