Biography
An article entitled "Virginia Gleanings in England" published the Virginia Magazine of History and Biography outlines some details of Magdalen's life.[1]
This article noted her as being the daughter of George Hope of Queen's Hope, Flintshire and Dodleston, County Chester. The article lists the children of Magdalen and John Baskervyle including their fifth son John who was noted as being born in 1635. It also describes a tablet in Goosetry Chapel that recorded Magdalen as having died on 09 Apr 1670 aged 66. Earlier in the article Magdalen's date of death was stated as 19 Apr 1669.
Magdelen (age 66) died on 19 April 1670 and was buried in Great Warford, Cheshire, England.[2]
On a tablet in Goostry vestry: "Here lyeth Magdalen, daughter of of George Hope of Dodleston, in the county palatyne of Chester, esq, the relict of John Baskervyle of Old Withington....she died the sixth day of April, in the year 1670, aged 66 years."[3]
