The inventory of his estate recorded that Jeremiah Hopkins died on 26 April 1733 in Scituate, Providence County, Colony of Rhode Island.

Att a Town Council held in Scituate by adjournment this 17 day of September Annoqe Dom: 1733...

Thomas Hopkins of Scituate appeared before this Council and prayed that they would Grant him Letter of Administration on the Personal Estate of his Brother Jeremiah Hopkins of sd. Scituate who Departed this Life on the 26th day of April Last past and died intestate.

Voted that Administration on sd. Estate be Granted to the sd. Thomas Hopkins Provided he give bond with Surety for his true and Rightfull performing of the same.

And the sd. Thomas Hopkins did procure Job Randall and David Sprague Junr. for Surety who were accepted by the Council and were all bound according and a Letter of Administration Granted him under the seal of the Council in the following words.

These are therefore to Authorise order and Impower you the sd. Thomas Hopkins to take with you Possession Care and Custody all the Singular the Goods Chattels and Creditts of your sd. Deceased Brother Jeremiah Hopkins and therewith Satisfie pay and Discharge all and Singular the Debts due from the sd. Jeremiah Hopkins if there be Sufficient therefor and after the sd. Debts are paid if any of sd. Estate Remain in your Hands The same to dispose of to the Respective Legatees according to Law and in all other Case Relateing the Premises to act and do as the Law Requireth and Impowereth one Administrator, And True and perfect account to Render to this Council or their Successor in sd. office of your proceedings in your Administration when Lawfully Called thereto and for your so doing this Shall be your Sufficient Authority.

And the said Thomas Hopkins Exhibited and Inventory of the personal Estate of the sd. Jeremiah in the following words.

A True Inventory of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of Jeremiah Hopkins of Scituate in the County of Providence Co who Departed this Life on the Twenty Sixth Day of April annoqe Dom 1733: Appraised this 10th: Day of September: 1733 by us the Subscriber
