Maurice was born in 1877. He was the son of William Hopkins and Hannah Jayne. He passed away in 1971. [1]
Maurice J. Hopkins married Ida May Porter in Casper, Wyoming, on 6 April 1921. He had been married previously. The newspaper article announcing the marriage continued: "Capt. M. J. Hopkins, an officer in the [first] world war, is an independent geologist connected with the Iowa-Wyoming Oil company."[2] The 1930 and 1940 census show Maurice and Ida living in Rolling Bay, Kitsap County, Washington.
" . . . Major M. J. Hopkins, a former Brinnon [Washington] resident now living in Medford, Ore., at the Rogue Valley Manor, a home for senior citizens . . . celebrated his 90th birthday on July 18. His wife died a year ago. . . " [3]
Maurice Jayne and Ida Mae Hopkins are buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford, Oregon.[4]
