Biography

Hi, I’m Gerry, the youngest daughter of three girls to Grace (Peters) Hopkins and Harold Hopkins. My parents were married on 13 Oct. 1949. My two sisters have developmental disabilities. I am proud of them for being fighters throughout their lives We lost Dianne, our middle sister, aunt, daughter and a friend to many in 2015.

Research Notes

I called Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, [Were we were born] however the person I talked to said they had disposed of all the old records they use computers now. I was so dissapointed.

I consider myself to be a shy but friendly type of person who would welcome chatting with others. I will, and have, shared the true stories of my family history that I remembe, to anyone who is Interested in genealogy. I believe that nobody’s perfect. and try not to judge people, hoping I will be treated the same.

My belief is that love, patience, understanding, and listening to one another, can help any person to grow and feel confident in themselves; therefore, learning to have the ability to empathize with others. A person can do a lot to change themselves in life only If they, themselves want to. I've learned throughout life you can turn a negative situation into a positive outcome if you believe in yourself and in others.

My love of genealogy has become a very important goal in my life.
