Biography
Thomas was baptised on 8th February 1740/1 at St James the Great, Elmsted. Kent.[1] He was the son of John Hopkins and Elizabeth Sparks.
Thomas married Mary Bates at Elmsted on 17th August 1761.[2] The register notes that they were both of the parish and married by banns.
Thomas was buried in Elmsted on 18th March 1827. [3] The register notes that he was 87 years old.
Research Notes
The familysearch.org transcript for Thomas' burial names the location as Elmstone but this is an error - it should be Elmsted. The images of the registers are available on Findmypast.co.uk and this confirms that the location is Elmsted.
