John Hopkins was born in New South Wales, Australia
John Hopkins died young.

John Greer Hopkins was born on 9th March 1964. He was affectionately known as 'Little John'.[1][2]

Little John

John died of cot death at ten weeks of age. He is buried with his great uncle John Bede Murphy (5 months) 1891 and great grandaunt Margaret Maria Collopy (Cassidy) 1860-1893. There is no inscription.[3]

Grave at Rookwood Cemetery

When visiting the cemetery in 2009 the staff were quite surprised that John Hopkins was buried in this grave in 1964. Apparently the grave was a public grave and was not 'owned' as many others were, so there should never have been a burial into the grave. Permission would not have been granted. We suspect Little John's grandfather EA Roberts may have had a hand in pulling some strings at the time.[4]
