Edward Martin was born in 1820. He is the son of Martin Hopkins and Ann Manley.
Marriage

He was a senior official in the Hudson's Bay Company. He was personal secretary and assistant to the governor in chief, Sir George Simpson.
He was later Chief Factor at Montreal.[2]
