Fanny E. Hopkins was born April 14, 1805 in Bridgewater, Oneida County, New York. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Richardson) Hopkins. John and his family settled in Prattsburgh during 1806, where he was a farmer. [1] [2]
Fanny married Gilbert E. Burton on September 26, 1822 in Prattsburgh, New York. They had four children: Edward Salisbury Burton; Electa Ann Burton, who married George Preston; Marshall Gilbert Burton; and Sophia Louise Burton, who married Rev. S. M. Campbell.
Fanny Burton died May 11, 1862 in Corning, New York (obituary attached). The location of her burial is unknown.
